Returning from conquests in 1189, three knights Guiral, Alban and Loup, in love with Princess Bertrade, learning of the disappearance of the latter, decides to become a hermit, each on a mountain and to light a fire each year to celebrate the beautiful . The peak was thus named Pic Saint Loup.
